Mexico's shine.
Bougainvillea, neon flowers.
Luscious concoctions
make me hesitant
to exhale.
I want to own
the colors
and aromas.
A lifetime of nature's
pallet and perfume.
the colors
and aromas.
A lifetime of nature's
pallet and perfume.
Mexico's glow
riding upon the sea.
Perfectly rounded
gray-lavender rocks,
like moons stacked upon clouds.
riding upon the sea.
Perfectly rounded
gray-lavender rocks,
like moons stacked upon clouds.
The rocks remind me
of birth,
wet and waiting
to explode into the earth
and know the light of Mexico's shine.
of birth,
wet and waiting
to explode into the earth
and know the light of Mexico's shine.

These cool 4 X 4's were exchanged a couple of weeks ago during our March Art Meeting held at Vikki's house and I took these photos on trips to one of my favorite destinations. I am a big fan of Mexico, and all it's colorful artwork and the happy people that make it such a beautiful country.

These are displayed so beautifully.
I really like how you tied the poem through out the post...you're so talented.
Thanks, Terri. I surely missed walking in the sand on some tropical beach this year, sipping pina coladas with lots of rum, gathering sea glass, sea shells, and swaying to the salsa melodies south of the border. I did a lot of secret vacation dreaming this winter. Adios Amiga, Nance

First of all, I love the look of your blog, especially the wonderful dancing lady on the left. The poetry and the pictures are wonderful. How wonderful to be a story teller as well as an artist. Absolutely beautiful work. Thanks for sharing it with your blogger friends.
