Digital Halloween Art

Since the weather here in Michigan has been rather cool for it seems like weeks, I was in a Halloween mood and made this today. The background and woman are two downloadable collage sheets that you can order from Becky Loyall from Moonlight Journey. She is a very generous soul and has even shared a beautiful piece of her personal artwork with me. She always seems to go the "extra mile." You have to view her blog's slideshow!! I really admire her work and get so inspired.

I am rather new to digital collage, keep playing, and am always amazed what I end up with. Usually, it's nothing what I had in mind!

I would like to do a Halloween Swap, if anyone knows of someone organizing any groups.

Very nice job! I enjoyed poking around your beautiful Site today. I see that you love Halloween as much as I do. I'm trying to work on some projects for my shop this week. Slow going!
I took a look at your 'Where Bloggers Create' post via your slideshow. SO nice!! I loved the one labeled, Dream Room. So organized. Great job!

Dearest Nan,
Guess what came in the mail yesterday?!!!!! I was so excited to open my goodies. I LOVE everything! The wonderful smelling soap, the dishcloths, the ribbons. They make me happy. The "Secret Garden" journal is so amazingly beautiful that I don't know if I can write in it:) Your art piece on the cover is just stunning! The grow kit is so sweet and I promise to do my best not to kill the poor lavender plant. I have the world's worst black thumb. LOL!! Thank you so much for your generosity and thoughtfulness.

I can't believe our Moms have the same birthday! That's awesome:) Have a lovely Tuesday Sweet Nan!

Love, Jamie

This is a beautiful piece! What program do you use to layer/combine your digital images? I know what you mean about the Michigan weather but today it actually feels like summer. I have been saying all along that summer was going to start in august I hope I'm right. I need a few hot weeks before fall. Glad to meet a fellow Michigan blogger

Hi Junie, I mostly use Photoshop 6 to edit my photos, but find Photoshop Elements 5 easier for digital collage. I am practically entirely self-taught with photo editing, but must give credit to Gail Schmidt (Creative Workshops) for her online class that introduced me to the basics of digital collage. I don't ever think I will know all there is in Photoshop. It is such powerful piece of software! Hopefully, I will discover more of its potential. Thank you your kind words in regard to this Halloween piece. Glad to meet you! ~Nan P.S. I must say I admire some of your photos on your blog. Your children photos are lovely!

Nan you are such a sweet sweet friend! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful art card. You really took the sheets and turned them into something beautiful!
One of the sheets was created by my dear friend and one by me:) I am using this pic in our next newsletter with a link to your blog. Lynne is posting the pick on our Moonlight Journey site!

Hi Nan,
What a gorgeous piece!! Isn't digital collage so much fun, it's like such an adventure each time you figure out how to work another tool, or learn a new technique with one you've been using. You certainly would never know you were new to digital collage, by looking at this amazing piece!
